Retrieve Device Configuration Data

To retrieve device configuration data from a device use the Retrieve Device Configuration Data action to select a parameter file to submit to a selected device. The available parameter files (whose names all begin with "get") request that the device return various items of configuration data that are stored on the device, such as device work rules, database and device status reports, and its hardware profile. In response to the request, the device dynamically generates an Configuration Report .xml file containing the current data that was requested and sends it back to the host application.

Note: The list of parameter files from which you make your selection includes some files that have been installed on the host system and any files that have been created for your system. You can create a custom file and add it to this list. If you need to modify an existing parameter file, copy it to a new location, modify it, and then import the modified file to replace the default file.
