Send notices from a Dataview (Broadcast messaging)
Managers can create notices within the system that can be sent to a group of selected employees or to all active employees in the organization, providing a direct communication channel from managers to employees. Notices can be configured so that employees are required to acknowledge the notice (either by selecting OK or Yes/No, depending on the notice configuration).
Notices can be sent to employees via Control Center, E-mail, or Mobile App, but a notice that requires acknowledgment can only be acted on from the Control Center. For all notices, employees receive an alert notification on their homepage where they can open Control Center by selecting the Notifications
- Configure a generic workflow notification type. The Custom Tags Notice Body and Notice Subject are available in the Notices group when configuring the workflow notification. How the notice is delivered (Control Center, E-mail, Mobile App) depends on the selected priority and the related Notification Profile.
- Create control center notification mapping. Select Platform for Domain, use Notices for Event Type and Notification, and select the Notices
icon. - Create the control center profile. Use the Notices category.
- Create and send notices via a Dataview. See Create and send a notice.
- Open a Dataview.
- To create a notice for a select group of employees, first select the employees in the Dataview and then click tap Create Notice > Create Notice.
- To create a notice for all employees, click tap Create Notice > Create Notice for All. This option sends the notice to all active employees within the organization.
- Enter the Subject and the Message text.
- Select a Response Type:
- None — Select this if no employee response is required for this notice.
- OK — Select this if you need the employee to acknowledge the notice by selecting OK.
- Yes-No — Select this if you need the employee to acknowledge the notice by selecting Yes or No.
- Click Tap Send.
- Note: Ensure all information and the recipient list is correct before selecting Send. Notices cannot be canceled or recalled after they are sent.
The following Dataview columns are available for notices:
- Sender
- Employee Response
- Response Received Indicator
- Body
- Response Type
- Subject
- Notice Message ID
- Sent Date Time
To create and send notice notices, you must have the following FAPs under Manager - Department Manager set to allowed in your function access profile:
- Notices (enables the Create Notice task bar item)
- Send to selected employees (enables the Create Notice menu option)
- Send to all (enables the Create Notice for All menu option)
