Generic Badge Formats
A generic badge is any badge that is not in the standard badge format (18 characters with a 9 digit employee badge ID and 2 digit company code). You can configure devices to read badges that differ from the badges that use standard formats. If you use generic badges, you must configure the badge format, including total characters on a badge, and the number of characters in a field.
Configure generic badge formats in the Generic Badge Formats building block.
