Approval Restrictions

An approval restriction enables restriction of timecard approval if certain exceptions are not resolved. All exceptions identified in the approval restriction must be evaluated and approved in order for the manager to approve the timecard. When exceptions are marked as reviewed or no longer exist (for example, when a missed punch is fixed or an unexcused absence is resolved), then they are considered resolved.

Configure approval restrictions

  1. Select Administration > Application Setup > Pay Policies > Pay Rule Building Blocks > Approval Restrictions.
  2. Click Create , or select an existing approval restriction and click Edit .
  3. Enter a name, and optionally a description.
  4. Select the exceptions that need to be resolved before the timecard can be approved.
  5. Click Save.

After you configure an approval restriction:

  1. Assign the approval restriction to a pay rule.
  2. Assign the pay rule to the necessary employees in People Information.
  3. Properly effective date the pay rule, if necessary.
